Everyone hated Pinkerton at the time, and everyone wanted him never to do that kind of stuff again, then everyone changes their mind and wants him to write nothing but it. It wasn't "catering to the masses," The Blue Album is still their best selling album of all time...much more than Make Believe sold. Stop crying and just enjoy the music.
