REMEMBER, not just a high B - a high B in the right place and not as a wrong note at the end of a well-played chart! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Yeah, so true about the babes... hahaha and yeah you can only really pull off the "moves" if you can back it up w/ a high B or whatever... i guess you pulled it off :) haha nice

Yo, I grew up watching the 'moves' of Maynard, Doc, Hubbard, etc - so I needed to have me some 'moves' too, didn't I? But moves ALWAYS need the backup of quality performance - plus, the babes DIG the moves! LOL

Lyle Mays started with this band in 1975. That gives you an idea when these programs were broadcast. By the time Woody Herman staged his 40th year concert in 1976, Mays was already gone and replaced by his successor in the NTSU 1 O' Clock Pat Coil. My guess is summer of 75.

Lyle Mays (lots with Pat Metheny) playing the Fender Rhodes, baby, ya! Groovy baby, ya! That must have been just after he graduated NTS 1 O'clock band. The drummer ain't bad, neither.

That looks like Lyle Mayes on keyboards??!!? during the piano solo, but also at about 3:14 he throws his head/hair back. Wow!

The album "Giant Steps", which this was on, came out in 1973, if that helps at all.
