AleezaChocolat ::: Favorites But if you don't like either the manga nor the anime's endings, watch the 2nd live action movie. It's ending is pretty awesome, IMO. AleezaChocolat ::: Favorites He elevated himself to the level of a god because he was arrogant enough to believe that other people were less smart than himself; that HIS moral/world views were the correct ones. So I think that having him NOT fall so miserably would've actually been a worse payoff for the series finale. He needed to realize he's human, too & to taste the bitterness of his own medicine; I also like the bleak, ironic twist that it was Ryuk who did him in, just like he promised he would back in chp. 1. AleezaChocolat ::: Favorites I agree that there wasn't enough payoff for all the tension built up. I wasn't too satisfied with either the anime's nor the manga's ending, plot-wise, just because it did seem a bit sloppier in the logic department than the 1st arc. But in regards to Light, I am happier with the manga's end. I don't hate Light but by the end he was an unrepentant sociopath . . . AleezaChocolat ::: Favorites He didn't die from a gun wound, though; it was Ryuk who gave him the heart attack, as well as the ironic honor of being killed with his own weapon of choice. Muhaha. ;) I don't recall if the anime played up Light's gun wounds more or not, but in the manga, I'm pretty sure he could've lived (in fact, that's what he was going to do, too; Near was going to lock 'im up) if he hadn't begged Ryuk for help. 07-09-17 01:14:28 __________________________________________________
