RANT - The new 10 minute running time limit.

Description: Not really a Video Blog entry (although I include it as part of the series), more of a rant. Last night, as I was uploading my latest Video Blog I was rudely made aware of the new 10 minute running time limit for videos by having my video rejected for being "too long." This is my response to why I think it's a silly limitation, how I strongly feel that some WARNING would have been nice (at the very least it would have been a POLITE way to let us know), along with some VALID REASONS for not having a running time limit, provided the 100 meg limit stays in place. UPDATE: YouTube has introduced a program for those with valid reasons for needing a time limit longer than 10 minutes. It's called the "Director" program, and you can find information about it in the YouTube blog. Share with friends

z0mgRugby ::: Favorites Well it seems since this video was made they took it one step further. I just specifically created a director account to start uploading my work, and had the same problem. No 'new' directors can break the 10 minute limit. You have to had been a director before a certain date to go over 10 minutes. zX95 ::: Favorites I've noticed now after all this site maintenance lately, that there is no "your video is limited to 10 minutes" on the upload page. BoruJudasDedrich ::: Favorites Maybe 3 hours for a 14 minute movie or music video or many things...but for a vlog? Take a speech class. The class will teach you how to organize and prepare a speech/lecture/vlog/etc. Also, your online appearance will likely improve. Simple things like good posture, flowing diction, and good lighting will make your vlogs much more enjoyable. Please don't take offense...my videos have gone from horrible to okay. Oh, and did I mention I have over 20 years' experience in video production? Not really sure what you're trying to say, other than to spoon feed advice to someone who really isn't looking for (or requires) any.
